Doya Doya Festival
Also known as the Huge Naked Festival, this celebration in Osaka Japan would have two groups of men in loincloths battling it out at the Shitennoji Temple on every January 14. These men are made to fight for the Goo Hin, an amulet of a cow god.
Setsubun Festival
In celebration of the first day of spring, the residents of Osaka Japan celebrate with a Bean throwing ceremony before the official start of the new season. It is meant to signify a seasonal division, and is celebrated in Buddhist temples and Buddhist shrines all over the city. Cherry Blossom Festival

Aizen Festival
Exclusive to Osaka Japan, the Aizen Festival is one of the three major summer festivals that are held in the city. It is made to honor Aizen Myo-oh, who is the greatest of the 8 Buddhist guardian guards. The festival has parades of geishas riding palanquins called hoekago, who head for the Shoman-in Temple, which holds Aizen Myo-oh as its principal image. This festival is held between June 30 and July 2.
Tenjin Festival
If you are staying in the Hotel Granvia Osaka, you must make sure that you do not miss the Tenjin Festival. Celebrated on July 24 to 25, the 1,000 year old celebration is done in the Tenman Shrine to honor Sugawara-no-Michizane, whom the Japanese have deified as Tenman Tenjin. As Tenjin is considered as the patron god of learning, there are certain events like a parade of people dressed in imperial court style of 8th to 12th centuries in the day and an illuminated boat procession and fireworks display at night.
